School starts in just a few short weeks throughout our region and now is the best time to schedule a physical exam for your student before the summer ends.

A check-up at the start of every school year can help you be assured that your child is up-to-date on all their necessary vaccinations, and that their health and development are on track. In fact, students entering Pre-K, kindergarten, 7th grade and 10th grade are required by state law to have a physical exam before the first day of school.

We're here to help! This August, our School-Based Health Care (SBHC) program sites are offering physicals to students enrolled in SBHC or those looking to get established at a participating school. If you’re new to the program, SBHC’s licensed health care providers work with school nurses to provide expanded medical, behavioral health, and dental services to students during the school day—in the school building. SBHC staff provide many health services, including back-to-school physicals, sports physicals, and vaccinations, and work in conjunction with the student’s primary care providers to support their health care needs.
